Call for Applications:
The Centre for Health Education Scholarship (CHES) is pleased to announce that applications are now open for the 2023 Master of Health Professions Education (MHPE-Canada) program and CHES’ Clinical Educator Fellowship Program (CEFP).

Whether you are interested in applying to one of these programs, or would like to share the information with individuals or departments who may have potential candidates, we appreciate your continued support for the CEFP and MHPE-Canada programs. Everyone interested in applying or learning about both programs are welcome to attend our Virtual Open House on Monday, November 14th from 6:00 – 7:30pm. Master of Health Professions Education (MHPE) Canada:
MHPE-Canada is a two-year, part-time, internationally recognized course, giving graduates a research-based master’s degree from Maastricht University.

The objectives of the MHPE program are to provide teachers of health professions, including physicians, nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, dentists, pharmacists and others, with the capacity to implement and improve their educational programs and to conduct education research related to regional and national health priorities. The MHPE-Canada focuses on the acquisition of knowledge and skills relevant for innovative medical and health professions education in Canada.

Within the two-year program, students participate in two sets of three-week long units, taking place on-campus with delivery conducted by faculty members from both UBC and Western University. All other units are distance-based being delivered by faculty at Maastricht University.

Clinical Educator Fellowship Program:
CHES is offering opportunities for senior residents (R3-R5), residents in enhanced skills programs (PGY3 Family Medicine), or established clinicians interested in health education scholarship to be a part of the CHES Fellowship program, which has graduated 34 Fellows since its inception. This Fellowship is designed for those interested in developing an academic career as a clinician educator.
