
Summer Science Applications – Applications are now Open! Application Deadline is June 15th, 2026

I’m ready to apply for the Summer Science program? SSP can be registered in three different ways: Online, Mailing or Scanning/emailing!
1. Download and read our application guide – Please read the application guide prior to submission of information.
2. Prepare documents and statements recommended from the Application Guide
Having information ready from the following guide in step 1, will really benefit input of data in the online form. The guide is what you will expect to see in the UBC Qualtrics (online form). Once you start an online application, you may continue at a later time only on the same computer and browser, but if you close the tab or get timed out you will need to start from the beginning.
3. Ready to apply?
SSP can be registered in the following ways – online or by paper: *Please note: do not attach reference letters or applications as google documents, JPEG, or PNG.
Option 1: I want to apply for Summer Science Online!
Fill out the Qualtrics application and reference letter field (or upload a PDF copy of your reference letter) in your browser. If completing the application online, a signature can be added by dragging the mouse on the appropriate signature box
Option 2: I want to email the Summer Science Application
Save the Word Document and fill it out on your computer, save the completed version to your files, and email it to summer.science@ubc.ca. Please remember to include attachments for supporting documents.
Option 3: I want to fill out the SSP Application by hand, and email it
Print out the form, fill it in by hand, scan it or take a picture, and email it to summer.science@ubc.ca. Please remember to include attachments.
Option 4: I want to fill out the SSP Application by hand, and Mail it

Frequently asked question: what do I include in my reference letter?
We encourage students to ask a teacher, school support worker, coach, mentor, or community leader to write a reference letter. Approximately 200 words (half a page) detailing your involvement in school and community, as well as how Summer Science can support your future academic and career interests.
